What is an AI stock score?

Quick answer

An AI stock score is a single number or grade that a model assigns to a stock to summarise how favourably it rates that stock's outlook over a stated time horizon.

AI stock score, explained

Scores compress many inputs, such as technical, fundamental and sentiment factors, into one figure that is easy to sort and filter. A common format is a 1–10 or 1–100 scale, refreshed daily or weekly.

The number only means something alongside its definition. Check what the score is trying to predict (for example, beating the market), over what period, and against which benchmark. A score that predicts three-month outperformance says nothing about the next week or the next five years.

Scores are relative and can change quickly. A high score is the model's estimate of better-than-average odds, not a forecast that the stock will rise, and a vendor's own back-tested hit rates are not the same as independently verified results.

Example

A tool might give a stock an AI score of 8 out of 10, meaning its model rates that stock's chance of beating the market over the next three months as above average.
